PLENITUDE – Arnaud Donckele

The last to arrive in Saint-Germain des Prés, Maxime Flatry is a passionate young merchant who is already well known to Art Deco collectors. This period that he particularly likes sometimes takes him to the other side of the world to discover pieces by André Groult, Jean-Michel Frank, Pierre Chareau, Marc Du Plantier, Jean Dunand or even Serge Roche. It was because he was looking for fantasy and quality that he couldn’t find on the luxury leather goods market that the architect-decorator François-Joseph Graf created his own collection. He also wanted to create a brand whose know-how and manufacturing would be 100% French. To carry out this project, he took over Mr. Pellegrino’s workshop, made up of excellent, precise and passionate workers.
When for a decor, the perfect piece of furniture does not exist, François-Joseph Graf creates it then realizes it. It’s the same approach for its collection of leather goods, which includes day bags, clutches and minaudières. For the creator, the creative process proceeds from the same artistic approach for a decor or for a bag. It is a design, a proportion, volumes. Designing a facade, a door, a fabric or a bag remains architecture.
So he designs each bag, imagines each pattern, selects each leather, each color and has each embroidery made. Here, artistic craftsmanship is rehabilitated at the heart of its creative process with unique pieces made in a Parisian workshop. For some models he creates patterns in resin, hot printed in three dimensions, or uses forgotten materials such as eggshell, rare or refined materials such as ivory and ebony plates, shagreen, rhinestones and crystal beads.

A chic, surprising wardrobe, made entirely of silk. Created in 2010, Laurence Mahéo named her brand after her two favorite dolls, Prestic and Ouiston, with whom she used to play in her grandparents’ fabric store. Childhood memories, dreamlike designs and prints, often created in collaboration with Laurence Kiberlain, the designer really knew how to create a universe apart in the Grand Bazaar of fashion.

For his first restaurant after twelve years in the Costes group, Quentin de Fleuriau wanted to create a truly unique place, in this corner of the Faubourg Saint-Germain that he particularly likes since it is here that he grew up.
For the decoration, he chose decorator and antique dealer Florence Lopez, who created a multi-faceted place, whose atmosphere changes throughout the day, bucolic during the day and more intimate in the evening. A deliciously shaded terrace, a bar worthy of the wildest Parisian years and, here and there, cozy spaces that lend themselves as well to conversation as to tasting.
In the kitchen, Quentin de Fleuriau wanted to preserve the values of a true French bistronomy even if the chef often likes to revisit it. Delicious savory and sweet surprises for foodies, including those who have chosen to be vegan.
But we also come here for exceptional events since Ma Kiss Room, created by the artist Mathias Kiss, can be privatized.

Contemporary or vintage jewelery, artist jewelery, Karry Berreby likes all genres, she even likes to confuse them, as long as they correspond to the same vision of refinement and elegance.

Galerie YVES GASTOU
Yves Gastou is a specialist for furniture and sculpture of the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s. He hunts for, rediscovers all the forgotten designers of those years. He was the one who since 1985 has organized the first exhibitions in France of Ron Arad, Ettore Sottsass or Shiro Kuramata, that he then confronted with the works by older major designers of the 1940s and 1950s as André Arbus, Jacques Adnet, Paul Evans, Gabriella Crespi, Joe Colombo and many others. It is thanks to gallery owners like him that we now enjoy the return of Art Deco in the forefront.
