COMPTOIR DU RELAIS SAINT-GERMAIN

Yves Camdeborde is certainly one of the chefs most in the public eye at the moment. He is the one who reached a compromise between Gastronomie and the Bistrot spirit, without being interested in stars and other awards. Here everything is simplified compared to any other gastronomic restaurant : the decor, the service, the food, but most of all the quality of the products. A place where you have to book a few months ahead.

DES GATEAUX ET DU PAIN

Working beside Pierre Hermé for three years, Claire Damon realised that her sensitivity could become the guiding principle to produce a cake and an emotion. She went on to work at Ladurée before joining the brigade de cuisine of Le Bristol and of the Plaza Athénée and met David Granger, known to be on an endless quest for the ideal bread. Together they launched this shop mixing the best of their worlds.

LE RELAIS LOUIS XIII

Built on the remains of the Grands Augustins, the Relais Louis XIII offers a traditional and gastronomic cuisine. Chef Manuel Martinez follows the century-old principles of French gastronomy only leaving aside what appears irrelevant to him nowadays. Perfectly mastered haute cuisine.

CAFE DE FLORE

The most illustrious café in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. It was the favourite spot of the intelligentsia of the 30’s, from Surrealists to editors, artists and filmmakers and it became the meeting point of post-war Existentialists. There gathered Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre, Boris Vian, writers and artists such as Ernest Hemingway, Juliette Gréco Brigitte Bardot, Roman Polanski, Françoise Sagan, Romain Gary as well as the world of fashion. Nowadays the Café de Flore still caters for a subtle blend or artists, writers, intellectuals, politics and anonymous people.

DA ROSA

Not only a gastronomic place, Da Rosa is also a delicatessen. We can find the products of the great chefs of Saint-Germain, as Hélène Darroze and Joël Robuchon, but also the bets hams, foies gras, cheeses, teas and caviars that one can bring back home or enjoy them on the spot. At anytime of the day, as soon as summer comes, we love sitting outside and nibbling something while tasting a good glass of wine. Surely one of the best gastronomic places of the neighbourhood.

DEBEAUVE & GALLAIS

Before us, Marie-Antoinette already could not resist the cocoa-based preparations of Sulpice Debeauve, pharmacist at court. Later, it was Balzac, Proust or Anatole France who would rush in the boutique of the rue des Saints-Pères. Today, the boutique is a listed building, and is still the meeting place of all the chocolate enthusiasts.

This is a place imagined by Pierre Gagnaire and dedicated to the sea : fish, seafood, urchins and oysters of all kinds, cooked in a myriad of ways with only one meat dish a day. Making us feel at a famous chef’s restaurant but keeping the atmosphere simple.
